Wooden Nickel

Wooden Nickel is a family-owned and operated business, born and raised to work wood. They wanted a brand combining a nose-to-the grindstone work ethic with a keen awareness of environmental and societal dilemmas, a look both nostalgic and blue-collar, while appealing to an environmentally-aware audience. An identity that looked at home on shirts and branded on the back of a beautifully executed armoire was constructed.

Promotions

In order to maintain the company tenet of sustainability, promotional pillow-packs filled with seedlings were handed out to potential customers. Another promotion entailed jute sacks packed with leftovers from the workshop floor made into mulch. And finally, to round off the life-cycle of a forest, the concept of matches became an interesting and unique exclamation.
